Having Children Doesn’t Limit Your Life…

Hey everyone!

So this post is a little bit different to my normal topics, and it’s really based on some thoughts I’ve been having over the past few weeks.

Lots of people say that your life is over once you have children. That your life isn’t your own and you’re always having to think of someone else before yourself.

Which is partly true, but the tone in which it is said is the problem.

Before I had my baby, most of my days were filled with meaningless activities and more often than not I would be sitting at home watching TV until my then Fiancé came home to fill my time.

This might not be true for everyone, but before I had my little man I would get up late, do nothing, eat junk, go to work and maybe drink with friends on the weekend.

Once you have a child you have no choice but to get up and get going every day even if some days you really just can’t be bothered!

And in doing so my life has improved ten fold. I know my little man needs me. On a basic level he needs me to feed and water him. But children require a lot more than that to develop into happy people. They need love, fun, adventure, stimulation and a role model in their parents.

Now I have Hunter I walk more, play more, laugh more, love more, and possibly most importantly I think more.

I think about the person I am. And what I am teaching my son every day. Amongst many forms of learning, children pick up their behaviour through observation and re-enactment. In basic terms, what you do, they do. I realised that I needed to be calmer.

I realised what it meant when I heard people say ‘it’s not worth it‘. Whether is about a fight or an argument. Because it really isn’t worth it. If I got into an argument with someone now, it would have to be for a damn good reason. Because no way am I putting my child in harms way for nothing. I will teach my son to talk if he has a problem not shout.

Becoming a mother has made me re-evaluate my life goals, and strive to reach for my dream life with my family. The limits are endless.

*Disclaimer: this is my opinion, it’s cool if you don’t agree*

Let me know what you think! How did having children change your life?

Tourist in my own city…

Good evening everyone! Welcome to my new readers and welcome back to the ones that have been following me from the beginning! I Love U!

The weekend just passed was awesome, because I found an sickkkk deal on a one night stay at an apartment in Birmingham and even though Birmingham is my home town, I booked it!

1: Because I felt like I needed a little family adventure. Not going on holiday this year has really taken its toll on me.

2: Because it was the perfect location to up my photograph game on Instagram!

Kieran and I were saying how different we felt when we walked into town for a bite to eat. It was like I was looking at Birmingham for the first time 😂! I think we just had a different vibe because we knew we were staying over!

Hunter (My little boy) loved the experience, and he really enjoyed waving at other people from the balcony!

It’s made me realise there is a lot more to the place you live, and how important it is to do spontaneous things and not get stuck in the same old routine. I’m already saving up for our next little trip!

If you’re thinking of booking somewhere, use this link and it will get us both £15 off our next trip!

£15 Each 😍

Here’s a video of the apartment too:

Fashion Friday: Orange 🍊

Good Morning everyone! Hello to my new followers, and welcome back if you’re returning!

Today is Fashion Friday and I wanted you to bring the colour to this one. One I don’t often wear at that!

Orange, I know it’s a pretty bold statement but there was something cool about putting a blazer on over a dress!

Both of these items are from River Island

Dress: Click Here

Blazer: Click Here

These colours just scream holiday, and it kinda makes me sad because I’m not going abroad this year 😭!

I love the tassel detail on the dress, and of course the asymmetric design adds more interest to the overall look. The blazer adds a touch of sophistication and means that you could easily wear this outfit for an evening meal without getting too cold!

What do you think? I would love to hear from you so let me know in the comments below!

If you like my photographs, please head over to my Instagram page @lollyhm.fashion and give me a follow there too!

Have a wonderful day!

Something you didn’t know about me!

Good Evening!

So Today I decided to tell you all a little bit more about me! Well, one thing in particular and it is that a few years ago now I got my first sewing machine, and I taught myself how to sew clothing!

Now I am nowhere near perfect and I definitely have a lot more to learn, but recently I unboxed some of my old materials and thought I would give it another go!

This is what I made…

This is a pastel purple two piece consisting of a halter neck bralet and a mini skirt.

Like I mentioned, I haven’t used my sewing machine for a few years now so I was unsure as to whether I would make anything of substance, but I was actually really chuffed with myself!

What do you think?

I feel like this looks like a legitimate outfit so I am pretty buzzing to be honest 😁!

Would you guys be interested in seeing more of my creations? Because if you are let me know! I would love to show more 🤓!

Thank you to all of my new followers and for all of my returning followers, you mean so much to me!

Good Night and Lots of Love

My First Colour Pop Order 😻

Good Morning everyone and happy Friday!!!

I received an order I have been eagerly anticipating yesterday and that was my first ever Colour Pop order.

I have been searching for a good liquid concealer for ages now and I never seem to find a shade light enough to use as a highlight! So when CP blew up on the gram with this photograph:

I was super excited, because there is a shade there that is 100% light enough for me!

I went with shade Fair 02, and I also added Fair 00 to my basket and this is because I already have a concealer that is way too dark for me so I plan to lighten it up with the 00 shade 😏! At $6 per shade how could I say no!

Like I wasn’t happy enough, when I clicked on my basket I realised there was something else there, at first I was like huh better delete that because I ain’t paying for something extra… Then I looked at the price and realised it was free!

I just so happened to make my first order while CP was celebrating its 4th birthday and I got this gorgeous creamy eyeshadow too for absolutely nothing!

It doesn’t even end there because I got $5 off my first order because I signed up to their mailing list, I meannnn 🤩. In total I paid around $10 for my items including shipping to the UK

The outside of the box simply said ‘Made in LA’ but the inside of the box really bought the partayyy!

I am so impressed with the whole service!

I will do a more detailed review of the concealers but just look at the shimmer on the shadow…

Can’t wait to use them all properly! I am really impressed with my first overseas shipment of makeup!

I hope you enjoyed today’s post guys! Let me know your thoughts on Colour Pop and what I should order next time!

Lots of Love

My Makeup Progress 🤩

Happy Hump Day People!

It is one fine day in the UK, the sun is shining and I am feeling positive!

One reason for this is because I just compared two of my makeup looks, one from last month and one from yesterday and I’m like WHATTTTT! Haha I know modest. But legit I’m so happy with how much I have improved in such a small space of time!

I have been letting you guys know about my cut Crease dramas, but the past week has involved me miraculously improving on my precision and I’m literally loving life.

Practice really is the key to being successful in anything in life. I also realised that my makeup photography game has upped too! Unbelievably both of these photographs were taken with the same camera. My iPhone 7+ to be specific. I legit thought the camera quality was at fault in the first photograph but I was clearly just taking rubbish photos 🤣!

I can still see a lot of areas that need improving, like my brows sorry people but it’s nice to reflect on the progress I’ve made so far!

What do you think!?

I would love to hear your thoughts and also, if you want to see my future progressions, hit that follow button if you haven’t already! I’m also trying to reach the target of 600 followers on my Instagram, so if you have one hit me up and I’ll follow you back!
