Tourist in my own city…

Good evening everyone! Welcome to my new readers and welcome back to the ones that have been following me from the beginning! I Love U!

The weekend just passed was awesome, because I found an sickkkk deal on a one night stay at an apartment in Birmingham and even though Birmingham is my home town, I booked it!

1: Because I felt like I needed a little family adventure. Not going on holiday this year has really taken its toll on me.

2: Because it was the perfect location to up my photograph game on Instagram!

Kieran and I were saying how different we felt when we walked into town for a bite to eat. It was like I was looking at Birmingham for the first time πŸ˜‚! I think we just had a different vibe because we knew we were staying over!

Hunter (My little boy) loved the experience, and he really enjoyed waving at other people from the balcony!

It’s made me realise there is a lot more to the place you live, and how important it is to do spontaneous things and not get stuck in the same old routine. I’m already saving up for our next little trip!

If you’re thinking of booking somewhere, use this link and it will get us both Β£15 off our next trip!

£15 Each 😍

Here’s a video of the apartment too:

Review: Colour Pop No Filter Concealer

Good Morning Everyone!

I happen to be waking up in a beautiful apartment in Birmingham this morning with my family so all is well!

I bought the CP No Filter Concealers a few weeks ago now, and have been planning my review for a while since I bought them, but I wanted to make sure I’d applied a few times before I made my mind up about them.

What I will say is, they’re great, but they’re not amazing.

The improved shade range is brilliant in my opinion and that is because I never normally find a concealer light enough for my complexion!

So I obviously had to be completely extra and buy the two lightest shades!

002 I will normally use on its own although I sometimes mix it with my Maybelline Fit Me Concealer if I’m wearing fake tan! I also mix my 00 shade because clearly no one is that pale πŸ˜…!

I really feel like these shades have upped my makeup game, because I find it a lot easier to contour and highlight when I actually have contrasting colours to my foundation.

One down point I will say, is that the formula seems to dry really dry and it collects in all the small creases under my eye, this happens pretty much soon after it dries.

Not sure if that’s anything to do with my primer though but I shouldn’t think so? I can’t complain too much because they are only $6!!!

Overall I do really like them, but I think I would prefer my Maybelline Fit Me Concealer if they had my shade!

I really hope you enjoyed this review!

Hit that follow button if you haven’t already and have an amazing day!

Fashion Friday: Orange πŸŠ

Good Morning everyone! Hello to my new followers, and welcome back if you’re returning!

Today is Fashion Friday and I wanted you to bring the colour to this one. One I don’t often wear at that!

Orange, I know it’s a pretty bold statement but there was something cool about putting a blazer on over a dress!

Both of these items are from River Island

Dress: Click Here

Blazer: Click Here

These colours just scream holiday, and it kinda makes me sad because I’m not going abroad this year 😭!

I love the tassel detail on the dress, and of course the asymmetric design adds more interest to the overall look. The blazer adds a touch of sophistication and means that you could easily wear this outfit for an evening meal without getting too cold!

What do you think? I would love to hear from you so let me know in the comments below!

Makeup Monday: Is it a halo though?!

Hey everyone!

Today I’m going to be sharing a makeup look with you, and I’ve gotta be honest, I’m not sure if I like it. I put a lot of effort into it and on this particular occasion I don’t really feel like it shows!

I really wanted to get a Halo Cut Crease down on the first attempt. I didn’t haha. Obviously, because these things take time.

I do like the look, but compared to the picture in my head it just isn’t living up to my expectations unfortunately!

I wanted to match the white dots I added to my brow line with a white line on my lip. I added some gold glitter to the outer line of that and it ended up looking like I smudged the white everywhere on the photos so that’s another reason why I’m not 100% happy.

I re-applied the white lip line without the glitter and it looks a lot cleaner so that made me feel better!

Obviously though this is the process. Some looks I love and others I learn how to improve them for next time!

I feel like I need to be a bit braver and blend some darker shades into the halo to make the lighter colours pop!

Let me know what you think! Any advice is always greatly appreciated!

DIY: Body Lava πŸ€©

Hey everyone!

If you’re anything like me, then you love a highlighter, and you’d also love a body lava if you could afford one πŸ˜’!

So I came across such a simple hack on the internet that I just had to try it for myself! (Would love to insert credit here but I saw the video on Facebook and can’t seem to find it again!) So today I’m going to show you how to create your very own two ingredient body lava!

First you will need a small container, it doesn’t really matter what you use for this part it’s just down to preference! I used an old perfume refill bottle for mine!

I filled this bottle with my main ingredient: Baby Oil!

Once I was happy, I picked out a highlighter powder that I wouldn’t mind scraping a little, because this is what you will be adding to your baby oil! I chose my beaut Primark Highlighter palette!

I used the shade glimmer first as you can see by the scrapes haha! I also used the rest of the shades but in a much smaller quantity!

When you’ve finished your scraping, carefully add the mix to your container!

Then SHAKE IT LIKE A POLAROID PIC BOO!

And you should end up with something that looks like this:

How much highlight and what shades you use are completely down to you, it’s your lava so play around with it and see what you think!

My advice would be to start off with a smaller amount of highlight powder, mix it with the oil and then add more until you are happy with the glow it produces!

Here is a video of me pouring it on my skin 😍!

I am in love!

Life Update, and My Makeup of The Day!

Good Evening!

How has your day been? I had a lovely afternoon in Birmingham town centre with my family on what was a fine sunny day, which included lunch so you know, life is good!

We then met up with some more of my family to have a pink gin in a pretty beer garden!

I have been trying to take a more positive and thoughtful approach to life recently and in light of this approach I have decided to have a go at completing my psychology degree! So providing student finance let’s me carry on, I will be proceeding with that in October!

I went kinda full glam today with my makeup and I was really happy with the look, although the heat made it feel a bit heavy on my face,

So if the sun is shining tomorrow, I’ll be having a makeup free day and taking in some of those rays 😻!

I’m not sure if you guys are interested in these kinds of posts from me so I’d love some feedback!

Let me know what you’ve been up to recently, or ways that you keep positive vibes flowing!

As always thank you to all of my followers for following me! If you’re new here there is plenty of room for more and I’d love to get to know you so hit that follow button! You can also find me on Instagram @lollyhm.fashion
