Fashion Friday: Heatwave πŸŒž

It is not often that you get three consecutive days of sun in the UK, and I am absolutely loving it!

I was not prepared at all and had to rummage through some old summer clothes to find something appropriate for today! And I found this Forever 21 dress that I borrowed from my sister when I was pregnant!

It’s not a maternity dress or anything, I just needed something light and cool for that summer heat!

I picked up this cute choker from Primark for Β£3 recently and I think it’s so pretty!

If you’re in the UK today (or anywhere hot) I hope you’re enjoying the sun as much as I am! My little boy is loving playing in our garden!

What have you been up to? Got any plans for the weekend?

Primark VLuxe Lash Review πŸ€πŸ˜

Heyyyyy everyone!

So if you saw yesterday’s blog post I was raving about the new beauty items I bought from Primark! One of which being the gorgeous VLuxe mink inspired lashes for Β£6

I tried them out today and wore them for approximately 5 hours so I thought I’d let y’all know my thoughts!

First off, I was aiming for something dramatic by choosing the Gala style and I was not disappointed!

The look and style was exactly what I aimed for and I found them extremely easy to apply.

The price of Β£6 is such a small price to pay for the sheer volume of these lashes!

The one big issue however was the glue that came with them! I felt ok for the first few hours and like I said they applied really easily. However my eyes started really hurting after a few hours of wear and I could tell it was bad quality glue causing it.

When I finally got the chance to take the lashes off I was looking in the mirror and I noticed a blister on my eye ball 😩! I have never had a blister on the actual eye and didn’t know it was possible. I got my husband to check to make sure I wasn’t seeing things (pardon the pun πŸ€—) and he agreed that there was definitely a blister there. It really creeped me out because it was extending over my iris!

Another four hours later and my eye is still really sore and I can feel the blister when I blink 😭!

So basically, amazing eyelashes, and a whopping 10/10 for those. But the glue has a resounding -1000/10 and I will not be using it again! I have some better quality glue that I will be using to apply them in future. I love a lash but I don’t want to go blind over it people!

Have any of you had the same experience with bad quality glue?

Let me know!

How to add more colour to your wardrobe!

I have never been one to shy away from colour in what I wear. In fact, I rarely wear anything that is just plain black. What you wear is an expression of who you are!

I’m pretty confident and I think that shows in my outfit choices. That paired with my pale skin makes it easy for me to steer away from Black! I have lots of friends who say they would love to wear more colour but either don’t have the confidence, or literally don’t know where to start!

So I thought I could write a blog on this topic and show you guys how you can slowly inject more colour into your outfits!

1: Start off small!

If you don’t feel comfortable sporting a multicoloured floral two piece, that’s just fine! Because colour has a habit of spicing up any outfit, even if there’s only a little bit!

For example, you could take this PLT Black Suit

And pair it with a cute coloured crop underneath! This way you would see a little pop of colour but it wouldn’t be too overwhelming as your jacket would be tied over the top!

2: Ask other people which colours suit you!

I don’t often wear pale blue tones, but after I wore the dress below to a summer wedding last year it seriously changed my mind! As quite a few people said it really suited me!

So simply ask the people around you which colours they would love to see you in, and this might give you the confidence boost you need!

3: Buy some colourful accessories!

You can make an outfit look so much more interesting with the right accessories! You may find it a lot easier to match your bag and shoes and incorporate different colours in those rather than your outfit.

PLT Earrings

PLT Bag

PLT Choker

Do you think any of these tips would work for you?

Let me know how you use colour in the comments below! I would love to see some of your outfit ideas so post your link below if you’ve done any outfit posts recently!

Sunday Shoutout: Q+A With Nelle

Heyyy everyone! Happy Sunday! Today I bring to you the wonderful Q+A I did with Nelle.

I have a LOT of time for the effort she put into these answers and you can certainly see this is the attitude she has towards all of her blog posts too! I mean just look at the crispness of her featured image here!

I changed up a few of the questions from last week and kept some too! So here goes…

Q+A With Nelle πŸ’‹

1) What three words would best describe you at a party?

Loud, bubbly and sociable.

2) Why do you love blogging?

Other than the fact that writing generally has been one of my hobbies from a young age, I love the freedom that blogging provides!

I’m able to post what I want, when I want and how I want, and I also love being able to interact with other bloggers and influencers.

3) What was your biggest life lesson?

I think that one of the biggest lessons I’ve learnt is that life is really short and that you should really grab any opportunities that you’re interested in. Don’t be afraid, just go ahead and try something new!

4) Describe your day with three emojis :

😘 πŸ™Œ πŸ“

5) Do you prefer summer or winter? Why?

Although winter is beautiful with its crisp, white snow, I definitely prefer summer as it’s warm and I can easily make arrangements with friends!

6) What would be your perfect date?

I honestly love the idea of being wined and dined, but I feel as though that isn’t really my scene. Even if we’re just lounging in the front room eating pizza, as long as it’s warm, there’s movies ready to watch, and I’m comfortable – that’s good enough for me!

7) Where do you see yourself five years from now?

I’d like to picture myself perhaps moving out of the city, being settled in University or already working in criminology or forensic fields.

8) Name one thing you love about yourself:

I love the fact that I’m able to make people laugh/ put a smile on their faces. I’m a pretty easy-going person, aha!

9) Have you set any goals for 2018?

I have! One is to stay healthy by exercising, drinking loads of water and also cutting out certain foods. The other is to provide more content for my blog, and possibly do a collab.

10) Why should people follow your blog?

That’s a hard question to answer without coming across as cocky! I’d say that others should follow my blog because even though my post-ideas may have already been done before, I always try to add a little twist in hope to inspire.

11) Favourite blog subject?

I love creating as well as reading clothing hauls and reviews. I’m forever looking for new pieces to add to my wardrobe!

12) Favourite meal?

I don’t have a specific meal that I enjoy, but I definitely enjoy ordering either a Chinese or Caribbean takeaway.

13) Who do you look up to and why?

Patricia Bright has been one of my biggest inspirations for the longest time. I admire the fact that she’s self-made and has worked extremely hard towards her dreams and to also get to her position as the influencer that she is now. Her Youtube videos are super hilarious – so definitely check her out.

14) Favourite TV series?

I recently finished the entire first season of ‘Young Sheldon’, a new TV series based on the character of Sheldon from ‘ The Big Bang Theory’, and it has given me so many laughs. I cannot wait to see the second season.

15) Dream job?

My dream job would be to become either a criminologist or a forensic – both careers really amaze me.

Speak soon,

Janelle ‘NellΓ©’ Moore

Fashion Friday 08: Lace Look book πŸ!

Happy Friday wonderful people! Friday means FASHION here on the blog so today I will be sharing with you my outfit of the day!

I wanted something casual yet glam 😏 because as you know I like to be able to switch to flats if I need to… heels can get extremely uncomfortable after a while!

Tadaaaaa! I’ve been seeing so many lace crops layered with jumpers over on Instagram so I jut had to try it out for myself! I really think it adds something sweet and delicate to the overall look of the outfit.

I got the crop jumper from Miss Selfridge like 4 years ago so I’m assuming it’s not available any longer πŸ˜‚! I grew really bored of this jumper but I’ve up-cycled it in a way and I’ll definitely be wearing this outfit more!

So do you like this outfit and would you try something similar?

I’m 100% going to start trying to re wear more of the clothing I already have and find new ways to make them fun and relevant again!
